father-son camping

Two weeks ago Christian and Dustin went on the annual Church father and son camp outing. Christian had been looking forward to this for a long time. He loves it!! It was to Calico again and this time I think he had even more fun than last time.

Chloe and I grabbed some dinner out and then painted our nails then she fell asleep early and left me to watch TV all by myself. :)

I snapped a few pics of the boys as they left.

I think a family camping trip is in the near future because Chloe is itching to go! :)

a get away weekend

A couple of weekends ago we had a little family get away. The original plan was to make a quick trip to Utah to watch a friend in a play and visit with some family. Well, with the outrageous prices of gas right now we opted out of that decision.

We had however already made arrangements and had the weekend free so we decided to have some fun. We asked the kids what they might want to do and one suggestion from Chloe was a picnic. So we expanded on that idea a bit. We got the bags packed and headed to a surprise destination for the kids. We picked up some food along the way and arrived at Huntington Beach for a picnic and some fun. We had a really good time. Then we headed to the hotel that we booked for the night. On the way there we drove past the surprise for the next day....Knott's Berry Farm. The kids were so excited!! You see, they each have a piggy bank in their room and they fill it to go to Knott's...so they were very excited to say the least. At one point Christian did tell me "Chloe didn't fill hers all the way up"...oh these kids!! :)

Here are some pictures from our day at Knott's.

A little unsure at the first jump...

Big enough for the "big boy" rides now.

Then I got the thumbs up.

Chloe's favorite ride, the school bus!

She got a little help from dad on this one.

Two exhausted kids and a great weekend!!!

We had a great weekend together and agree that we need little get aways more often.

Christian's trike-a-thon

A few weeks ago Christian had a trike-a-thon at school to raise money for their kindergarten class trip to the Los Angeles zoo in June.

He was so excited for it and even practiced riding his bike up and down the sidewalk before the event. He had so much fun and is really looking forward to the end of the year zoo trip. Those pics will be posted for sure as soon as the trip happens. The family is gonna tag a long for that one. :)

Good job little man...we are so proud of you!

Buddies!

Christian and his buddy Ethan (green bike).

He thought is was great to pit after each lap towards the end. Dustin and I thought is was pretty funny!!

He even loved the crashes!

Yes, we realize he needs a new bike, but it suited the purpose! :)
