double the pleasure

Yesterday was a day that I had been waiting for a while now. I finally got to meet Justin and Tyler. These are the new twin boys of my dear friend Kim (and Jason too). They entered the world on April 1st, but made their debut a little early so I had to wait a bit to meet them. It was worth the wait! They are little dolls!! I am SO happy for Kim and Jason because they have been waiting a long time for this. You will never meet a sweeter person than Kim or someone wanting to be a mommy more than her. Congrats guys, we are so happy for you and your sweet family.

We just went over to visit, but you know I had to drag my camera along. They were looking so cute on the bed so I didn't dare move them. Maybe next time!! :)

Think they're related?

poor Chloe

This afternoon I noticed that Chloe had a little bit of blood coming from her mouth. After further investigation I saw that her top tooth had finally broken through and caused it to bleed. Not only that, but it looked almost like a blood blister since it was all red and purple(gross I know). Is this normal? Could it be infected? This never happened with Christian. Good news is it doesn't seem to bother her. Poor Chloe!!

don't be jealous

So try not to be too jealous when I tell you that I got my NKOTB tickets yesterday. Yep, that's right! Even my hubby thought I was joking, but this is no joking matter. My niece Jenny (she's only one year younger than me) and I will be going together. Which is perfect because we saw them the first time together also. Jennifer (Idaho) was on board until we saw airline prices...darn. So October 11Th I will be in Vegas hanging tough with all the right stuff!! :) Yes, Dustin and the kids are going also, but not to the concert. We decided to make a weekend of it since we weren't able to go last month. So if anyone dares to meet us there and brave all the 80's hair, we would love to have you.

summer is here

Photobucket

Today is officially the first day of summer. I thought that I would do some pros and cons of summer in honor of the special day. Can you guess my feelings on it?? :)

cons

- nights that never cool down
- ants
- getting into a HOT car
- clothes that stick to your body
- getting out of the shower only to be sweaty again right away
- stuck indoors
- can't sleep cause it's just too hot
- sun burns

pros

- BBQ's
- flip flops
- swimming
- going to the beach
- nice weather
- outdoor sports
- camping
(oh wait, this is California, the weather is always nice enough here for all these things year round)

Yes, I hate summer! Dustin and I both do. It's just too darn hot for us. So as the first day of summer is welcomed by some of you, we begin our count down to Fall and cooler weather.

some questions

Does anyone know where I can buy window tint for my home windows?

Is anyone else not receiving email alerts when you have a new blog comment?

Does anyone know of anywhere that you can camp on the beach?

Do you like my hair lighter or darker (I'm getting bored again)?

Chloe's turn to pose

So today while the boys were napping I decided to do some more practicing with my little princess. Chloe was a pretty good sport and with me for a mom she better learn to love the camera!! :)

mini golf anyone...

So yesterday Dustin had the day off and we were planning on going to Disneyland because it was the last day that we could go for a while with our passes. Well we decided not to because it was way to hot outside. Instead we took Christian for his first round of miniature golf. What an adventure that was. We decided to do this because it was an indoor course and we thought it would be nice and air conditioned. We were wrong! The air wasn't working so well. Christian was so funny throwing the ball more than he hit it and pushing the ball with the club down the green. And the kid seriously got about 4 holes in one. It was so funny! He had a great time and we did to just by watching him laugh and have a blast.

After the golf we headed down the street to a pizza company that also has a huge arcade. This was the better of the two by far. We ate and then enjoyed some games and rides in the nice air conditioning. All in all it was a fun day despite the ridiculous heat of summer.

Happy Father's Day

Yesterday was Father's day and it was a pretty quiet one for us. Christian had gotten sick Saturday night with a high fever and still had it yesterday. We decided to stay home and focus on getting him better. Christian did make Dustin some cookies and gave him a gift that was from him, Chloe and the other 4 legged kids. We let daddy get a good nap and just relax watching his sports on TV. We didn't get over to our dad's houses, but we called them and they understood. We will visit them soon to wish them a HFD.

I want Dustin to know how much we love him and are glad that he is the dad of our family. He works so hard for us and we appreciate him and all he does not only for us, but for everyone else as well. He is the most generous person that I know. He is the best husband to me and a couldn't ask for a better father for my children. We love you Dustin...Happy Father's day!!

a special 1st birthday

Well Saturday was our little niece Savannah's 1st birthday. How fun it was to watch her try and figure out what to do with her cake and then finally destroy it. And I do mean destroy it! She is such a sweetheart and it was great to see her celebrate her big day.

I'm a little sad though because that means that Chloe's 1st birthday is coming up in just a few months. Where does the time go?

meet Mia and Emma...our nieces

Well I have been waiting for a while now to get my hands or should I say camera on these two little gals. And yesterday I got my chance and they did not disappoint. They did so well tolerating me putting them in trees, laying on the ground and what ever else I made them do. In fact I think Mia could have gone all night, but Emma was a little more ready to go ride her scooter.

I had so much fun girls...thanks again!! Here are a few of my favorite shots from yesterday.

Again I just want to thank my wonderful family and friends who have let me practice on them. This is something that I enjoy so much and I appreciate you taking the time to let me use and abuse you. :) If I haven't gotten to you yet...be warned! In the mean time do I have any volunteers?? :)

lighting, lighting, lighting...

Sunday I had the chance to shoot the sweetest family. I was so excited because the newest member of the family, Brooklyn, is all of 3 week old. Besides being sweet this family has done OK in the looks department as well...they are so cute. So since all that was going for me you think that I would have gotten some awesome pics, huh?

So as I was sitting at home glancing at the pics still on the camera I was thinking "hey, I got some pretty decent shots." So I downloaded them to them computer and began to take a closer look. My heart about sank!! Almost every picture was ruined in my opinion. As the image was small it looked fine, but as you enlarged it it was totally grainy.

So what do I do? Well in tears I email the master, Gina (since it was late or I would have called). We talked and she explained to me what happened and all I can say is lesson learned. She also made me feel better by letting me know that it has even happened to her before. Thanks G for helping me out once again. :)

So here are a few of my favorite shots from the shoot. They are still grainy, but you get the idea. And maybe if I'm lucky I will get the chance to shoot them again (fingers crossed).

Thanks Jared, Lynette, and Brooklyn for letting me practice on you. You guys are the cutest little family ever!!

mama and dada

So I was reminded that I have totally forgotten to document Chloe's first official words. I know that I mentioned a few weeks ago that she had said "mama", but that I thought it was by accident. Well I guess I was wrong because for the past 2 weeks or so she has been saying it steadily. And for the past few days now she is saying "dada" pretty regularly also. I just love it! Even though I think she is growing up way too fast. Why can't we just have them grow up at OUR rate of speed? :)

a much needed happy note

It's days like today that make you hold your little ones tight. When you have those days that you are worn out, fed up, mentally and physically exhausted and think why did I do this...well this is why.

It's the moments like this, the pure joy moments, that remind us why we do what we do. And why we wouldn't trade it for anything!

Lizeth's baby shower

Yesterday was a fun and exhausting day for the Peterson gals. It was Lizeth's baby shower! This day was so much fun to do for her (and Ryan). They have been waiting for this day for a while now. Only about a month to go and we will be welcoming little Leilani to the world. Can't wait!!

The baby shower was a Hawaiian theme and so much fun to do. All the bright colors and summer weather made it even better. I do have to admit that it was a little HOT out for my taste, but I think most did well with the heat. All in all it was a success I would say and everyone helped out so that was even better.

Okay, I'm ready for Hawaii now!!
