nothing exciting

Well nothing exciting to report today. If you didn't know, several months ago we got Christian a tent for his crib. This was because he wouldn't stay in his crib at night anymore and was no way ready for a BIG boy bed.Well today it happened! He trashed the tent to unuseable lengths. Thankfully he was exhausted at bedtime tonight so he went right to sleep, but we will see what the night brings and the next few days. Wish us luck!

So being that tomorrow is the first day of April I thought that I would list some of my goals that I have in mind for the month. Maybe this will help me stick to them. Here they are in no particular order.

1.) Finish "Spring cleaning" the house
2.) Paint the living room
3.) Get plants/shrubs planted
4.) Possibly get new curtains for the living room (mom's help for this one) :)

Well these are some of my goals and hopes really I guess. As time and money permits anyways! Also I have to help my dad with his taxes and paperwork a lot this month so that will take a lot of time also. Not looking forward to that at all! :( Anyways...if anyone loves to paint let me know and maybe I will even buy you lunch!! :)

happy half birthday

Well I'm a slacker and didn't go to church today because I was up most of the night with a migraine. Yuck! So today was pretty quiet around here, except for Christian as usual. :) I got the movie Enchanted and have been waiting to watch it so today I finally got the chance. About 10 minutes into Dustin was fast asleep so I was on my own. that's okay because is was a complete chick flick and I loved it. It was such a great movie that I think I'm gonna put it on my favorites list for now. I guess all us girls like our fairy tale endings!

As we were making dinner I mentioned to Dustin that today was Chloe's 6 month birthday. He said we should make her a cake. Why not? So we made the cake, but had no icing. It was the funniest thing to try and find a recipe online that we had enough ingredients for, but we finally did. Dustin even cut her candle in half. So "Happy half birthday Chloe." We love you!!

what a LONG day

So I thought this day may never end, but then I ended it.My goal for the entire day was to get our bedroom cleaned, deep cleaned (thanks Letti).I should have never taken Letti's challenge, just kidding I'm glad I did.All day I kept getting side tracked cleaning other things, playing with the kids and what ever else I did. Christian didn't have a nap today so he was just a joy towards the end of the night.Chloe wanted to be held a lot so she wouldn't let me get things done either. So here it is 9pm the kids are asleep and I still have to finish the room. All I can say is "migraine".I guess the room can wait cause I am done for the day. Let me just clear off the bed so I can have a place to sleep. There is always a fresh start and another day tomorrow, right?!
Our new table set for the porch Christian loves to hang out in Chloe's crib and make her laughMy comfy bed

GIVE ME SOME IDEAS

So my friend Letti did this last month so I thought I might try too. I need some creative ideas for our blog title. Peterson peep hole is fine, but what else can we come up with. I know I have a lot of talented friends so get those minds working and give me some ideas!! :)

fun at the ranch

We have spent a few days at my dad's house this week helping him with things and every time we go I know it will be a bath night for Christian. For those of you who may not know, my dad lives on a horse ranch so that means plenty of dirt and a happy boy.Today Christian thought that the manure pile was a dirt hill and that it would be so fun to play in.I had to laugh because he was just so clueless and cute. So anyways, he has a blast at grandpa Bob's and here are a few pics that I loved from his time there.
I love his dirty little face

what would you do?

Photobucket
WOW,what a day! Dustin called me from work at just the wrong time today and everything was going wrong. Funny cause the day was going okay, but just that moment was a mess and he had to call during it. Doesn't it always work that way? Well anyways it paid off for me. When he got home from work he handed me my purse, camera and some money and said don't come back for at least 4 hours. He told me to have fun , but to take pictures to show him what I did.So many options and I couldn't think of anything for a while. I was in shock I think! Most things need appointments and really I didn't want to spend too much money right now. What an awesome husband I have! So if you had time to think about what you would do with a few child free hours what would it be? Who knows, with more time to think about it I might have done things differently. What a fun day!!

Here are some pics from my outing today.

just random me

So last week I was so excited because Chloe had 5 nights in a row of sleeping through the night. Well the joy is over! She wakes up now anywhere from 4-6am and thinks it's party time. I remember that Christian went through different sleep phases so I hope she gets a better one soon! :) Any helpful advice?

So here are some more of my favorite pics from Easter.

it FINALLY happened

Christian said the magic words..."thank you mama." I just about fell over, but yelled for Dustin instead. Of course when Dustin was there he wouldn't repeat it, but that's ok. I have been trying to get him to say that for so long. Everytime I give him something I tell him to say "thank you" and today it finally payed off. I guess I'm doing something right with the kid.

Today he also had his first officail play date at the park with the other kids from church. He had a blast even though it was a bit warm outside. I realized that I need to do more things outside of the house with him so I'm going to make that a goal. He is such a sponge right now and repeats things all the time. I am so pround of him!

Happy Easter

Easter

What an eventful day we had. Since we had to wake Christian up this morning he wasn't really in the mood to come out of his room to find his Easter basket. We just couldn't convince him! So we took it into him and his little face just lit up. Then we headed to Church, came home and got things ready to go to my sister Jackie's. From Jackie's we came home for a minute to pick up some more goodies to bring to mom and dad Peterson's. Soon after we got there the kids all had an egg hunt and that was so funny. Again, Christian could have cared less and just wanted to play on the swing. Thank goodness BIG cousin Mia was there to look out for his best interest. She took his basket with her and made sure it got filled up. What a sweetheart!! A very busy, but fun day! And it was fun to spend time with Veronica and Marci talking about our blogs. We are a bit silly sometimes, but you got to love us!! :)

adventures in parenthood

Like a lot of other people we decided to color eggs today with Christian for the first time. I was concerned because I hadn't made that many for him to dye. Well that wasn't even an issue because after about the 4Th egg he had enough and was out of there. I think the process was too slow for him! :) At least there wasn't a huge mess to clean up. Better luck next year I guess :)

As I came out of Chloe's room from putting her down for a nap I made the mistake of glancing into Christian's room. Let's just say that he found some new uses for the diaper cream. Let's just say he got an early bath today.

What a silly day!!

just another day

So we going to take Christian to the park today since Dustin was off, but plans change. Dustin was going to mow the lawn and asked Christian if he wanted to help. And boy did he! He grabbed his little toy mower and hit the door with daddy. It was so darn cute that I just had to sit outside and watch for a while. SO we figured that Christian had enough outside time for the day and we did other things.

This is kind of just for me so I don't forget, sorry have to be a bit selfish sometimes. :) I was getting a little sad because Christian was making no effort to say Chloe's name. I know it's a bit unusual, but I was still sad especially when he can say his baby cousin Savannah's name. He just refers to Chloe as "baby." Well Dustin and I call her Chlobear as a nickname and a few weeks ago so did Christian. We thought that was pretty cute! And now a few days ago he has attempted to say her name. It comes out more like Coey, but still I'll take it! Thank goodness!

Here are some pics from today and a funny one with Christian and SOME of his trains.

the madness

Photobucket

Well first of all it's the first full day of Spring and what a beautiful day it was. I love it!!

Now for the madnees. First there was Christian's madness that erupted when we got home from the store because he couldn't open the train set because it is a bday present for someone else. That turned into a cry fest on his bedroom floor for I don't know how long. Pretty funny actually! Then there is the madness between Christian and Jet (our dog child). This poor dog gets tortured so bad by Christian. One of his favorite things to do is bury Jet with pillows and what ever else he can find and then jump on him. We have the best dog ever to put up with this EVERYDAY!!

And then there is the March madness that steals my husband every year. Well it started today and we were late getting home from the store and so I was to blame if his beloved Duke lost. Thank goodness they pulled it off at the very last second. So for now I am a widow until the season is over, but wait...then another sport season begins. Life is a blast!!

this and that

Well I started out with every good intention today to get our room cleaned. Didn't happen! Somewhere in between time got away from me and again I'm gonna blame the kids...why not. :) I did however get the bathroom and kitchen cleaned so that should count for something, plus they really needed it.

I want to know who was here!! I can see that my page is being viewed, but by who?? Let me know that it's worth my time to keep this up. If you read this then I want you to let me know. Leave me a comment, leave just your name, e-mail me or something. :) Just say Hi and that you stopped by so that I can know. Please!! :)

That's all I have today..nothing too exciting to report. I will say that my husband rocks though! He goes to work all day then goes to my dad's to weed whack for hours when I know he just wants to crawl into bed. What a guy!!

Spring has sprung

I love this time of year! The beautiful sunny days without the heat of the summer and especially all the beautiful flowers. So this time a year Dustin runs for the hills because it means that I want to plant everything in the yard. He absolutely hates the planting and yard work that goes along with this, but is usually a good sport for me. Well today Christian was my little helper and did a pretty good job, when he wasn't playing with his trains that is. :)

I also have taken on the task of starting my spring cleaning for the year already thanks to Letti. I actually started about a month ago and stopped , so thanks for the kick in the pants Letti. And this is the deep cleaning where everything gets a run through. So Chloe was the first room done and I plan on doing our room next. Christian's will be the challenge so I may put that off for last! :) I hope some more of you join the cleaning frenzy...it sure feels good when its done!

the little things

Tonight we had dinner at Dustin's parents to celebrate Tyler's (my nephew) birthday. All the cousins were there and having so much fun. It was a pretty nice day so they played outside on the swing set most of the time and what a blast they had. It was so much fun watching them and believe it or not there was NO fighting. So this got me thinking that sometimes it's the small things in life that can bring a smile to your face and make your day. So here are a few silly little things that can bring a smile to my face:

* an unexpected call or gesture from a friend
* a new yummy nail polish color
* Christian making Chloe belly laugh
* Dustin doing the dishes
* a great episode of one of my favorite shows

Christian just having a good time!!

what a day

What a great day! SO all day I have been excited because we were getting our family pictures done with the amazing Gina Lee. I got the kids their baths early in the day and made sure they had their naps so they would be fresh. All the prep work and we were still late! I swear, if I ever make it on time anywhere it will be a small miracle. But all things considered I think that the shoot went great and we had a fun time. Christian was in rock heaven and he had his choo-choo with him so he was a happy camper. And Chloe, well she was as sweet as always (except for her little mishap...wink wink Gina). :) So all in all in was a good day!!

Special thanks to Gina for this awesome preview!! Can't wait to see the rest!!

picture practice

So as some of you know I am trying really hard to get better with the camera. I love taking pictures, especially of my kids, but I want to be able to capture some cool shots. I am in no means a professional in any way or will I ever be, but I just enjoy it in every way. So today my dear friend Morgan let me come over and spend some time with her and her two beautiful boys. So much fun even though little Noah wasn't too happy with me. So here are a few of my favorite pictures from today. Thanks again Morgan, Andrew and Noah. You rock!!
