our "Edward"

So, first you should know that we are in the process of letting Christian's hair grow out. On Sunday we put this hair paste in Christian's hair for Church. After his nap later that day this is what we found...

For those of you who are "Twilight" fan's you will understand...for the rest of you, it's a hair thing. :)

We also call Chloe "Bella" quite often because she is just a little less than graceful these days! Yes, we are a little too into the whole Twilight thing I know. It's a sick obsession really and we are aware of this. :)~

our goings on

I have SO many pictures of the kids to post in he next few days, so be warned I will be playing catch up. Last month was a bit busy around here for us, but it looks like this next month will be a little more relaxing. Well, maybe! I do have plans to start Spring cleaning early, we have a few family birthdays to celebrate, a bridal shower, a trip to Utah, our family photo shoot, and some other things thrown in between. Also, I really want to repaint my living room because it never has been the color that I wanted. I know I will be on my own for that one though because Dustin absolutely hates painting!

Yesterday I took the kids to Oak Glen for a quick trip. I feel like I haven't been doing too many outings with them lately so it was time. It was nice, hardly anyone there at all, but it was a bit cold. We didn't stay too long, just long enough for a snack break. I tried to get a picture of the kids together, but once again it was a BIG joke. They just love to torture me I think! All I can do at this point is laugh and you will see why as I add some pictures at the end of this post. :)

This morning I took Christian to the doctor because for about the past 2 weeks he has had a cough and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. It's mostly at night and in the early morning, but the poor kid can't be getting a good nights rest and I sure am not. I'm glad I took him in because today he has been coughing ALL day (no joke). They said his lungs sounded good, but he did have a little fluid in his ears. It might be some asthma symptoms or bronchitis so we were given some meds and hopefully will be feeling good in a few days (crossing my fingers). And poor Chloe was crying last night and sur enough she was sick this morning too. I tell you, I feel like this house is one bug after another!!

So, that's our happenings for now and there will be PLENTY of new posts too follow very soon!! :)

Twilight/New Moon movie hype

So, since I'm totally obsessed and we all know it here is a new discussion for you. Looks like we're all hearing the rumour about Dakota Fanning playing Jane in the sequel. I'm just not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand , I love her to death in all her other roles, but on the other hand I don't want it to turn into a "Dakota Fanning" movie. I don't want her to be the focus of the movie and take way from the story line, if that makes any sense! Also, I kind of like lesser known actors in the movie. Also, looks like Vanessa Hudgens (HS Musical) will be in it also, most likely as Leah the werewolf. Can't picture her in this role, but we shall see I guess. I guess that's what happens when you get a new director and more funding. Hope the old cast gets a good pay raise if you know what I mean!! :) I still can't wait to see it in November and as long as Edward is the same then I'm still good!! :)

What do you think?

history is made

Today the Country welcomed in it's 44Th President and the first African American one at that. What a day in history and I am glad that it happened in my lifetime. It no longer matters who you voted for, but really that we just support our President and pray that he leads our Country in the right direction.

I do love all the hopefulness that surrounds this election. My hope would be though that people remember that it will take time for change and not too expect miracles. The President is only human! I think many people jumped on the "Obama bandwagon" along with all the hype, mostly younger voters. I hope that they understand that things take time and enjoy the entire election process, not just the win. :)

Here's to making history...

update to last post

OK, so I just want to clarify to everyone that I am not in a depression or anything like that!! I was just trying to express how we can sometimes get into a rut or a mood. I'm fine really! I was just in a mood when I did my "black sheep" post and I wanted to clarify that.

Thanks for all the well wishing comments...I really do appreciate them and you. I do know that I am a very blessed lady and have a great life! Love ya!!

what's on my mind

Well a few posts ago I made a comment that left some of you wondering "what was wrong?" I just thought that I might go into that just a bit. Really, it's not one thing that is wrong as much as it is several things that are just bugging me. This really could be anyones post I think , we all feel like this at times I think. I just have a big mouth I guess. :)

I get in those moods where one thing will get me down and then I spiral into all the things that I make worst than they probably really are. Know what I mean?! :) You (well I) have the thoughts like I'm not a good enough mom, wife, house keeper, too fat, don't have any friends and basically just not good enough ya know?

Then I get irritated when I think my family is being taken advantage of. I hate when things aren't planned. I hate when I feel like my kids are left out. I hate that I am so irritated at my dad's situation. I get so mad that I had to grow up so fast and I know that is why I have a low tolerance for a lot of people that I feel need to grow up before they try to act grown up. I hate that I get my feelings hurt when I see friends post comments on other peoples blogs who I feel that they may think are more of a "social status" and not mine. I hate that people assume that I am stronger than I am just because we don't broadcast our problems.

So, I know that this post may seem all over the place and I'm sorry, but really it's just for me I guess. I know that I have these issues sometimes, not all the time. And I know I can't change other people, only the way that I react to the situations.

I would like to say that I have been so completely moved by so many unexpected friends. For those of you who have told me that you are "proud of me." I want to say I big thank you to you!!Know that it means the world to me! I don't have that strong support from my side of the family so it means a lot to me when you say it. I go into this photography journey with no expectations at all, really. I do it because I love it, not to compete or to get rich. Simply because I love it and that's what friends do is support one another...so thanks for that.

So I think this year is going to be about what is best for our family. Try to be a little more care free also. Know that with all that is going on in the world that our problems are pretty small.

So if you made it this far thanks for reading my rant of the moment. :) I swear I'm not crazy...really!! :)

Christian's a Sunbeam

Well Sunday was officially Christian's first day at Church as a Sunbeam (meaning no more nursery for him). I was home with Chloe since she was sick, so daddy helped him out. He was good for the first hour, but didn't make it through the second and went to class with daddy instead. Maybe next week!

He has a great teacher, Mrs. Hayes, so I hope he warms up soon. We're very proud of our little man!! Here are a few pics from his day.

Doesn't he look so excited?!

Snack time is good!
Cambria, most likely my future daughter in law :)

Chloe's hair

Well lets just say that is has a mind of it's own and I thought it deserved a post of it's very own. Don't get me wrong, we think her "wild locks" are adorable, but just blog worthy. And since she is at the stage where she won't leave anything in her hair for more than a few seconds...it makes it even cuter.

Enjoy...we do!! :)

Twilight junkie

Yes, I have an addiction and I can't shake it!!

Twilight Books Pictures, Images and Photos

Let me just say that I am NOT a reader...at all. I did buy the book months ago with every intention of reading it since everyone else in the world was, but just never got around to it. Dustin was actually reading it to see what all the hype was about and when the movie came out he wanted to see it so I watched it with him. It was pretty good, but I wanted more detail so he said that I really needed to read the book.

I had him download the first book to my ipod and began to listen during my Boise trip. I fell in love! I didn't think a book about vampires would suck me in , but it sure did. Once I started reading (well listening really) I couldn't stop. Really I couldn't...it was like an sick addiction! I read all four books in about 3 1/2 weeks. My poor kids and house suffered as I neglected them, well not really that bad. The fun part is that Dustin was reading the series with me and so we could talk about it together. I must admit that book 2 was a bit slow for me and began to make me mad, but I was told to hang in there and I was glad I did. And yes, I was pretty pleased with the ending...thank goodness!

So I have seen the movie 4 times now (don't ask how) :)and my sister in laws and I have decided that once the movie comes out on DVD that we are gonna have a Twilight party of our own. I'm so glad that my sil Veronica is also reading the books right now and is just as obsessed as I am.

I am and was always on "team Edward." I'm so glad I didn't waiver in book 3 and am still way too in love with Edward Cullen than is normal. :) It's OK, Dustin knows and has a little crush of his own...Alice. :)

I can't wait for the "New Moon" movie to come out later this year. I will be there opening night and dragging the hubby along. I hope they make a movie for each book. I think Breaking Dawn would make a great one!!

Now back to reality I guess...

ever just feel like this?

black sheep Pictures, Images and Photos
Well, I do!

So, I haven't really been in the best of blogging moods lately. Not sure exactly why, but I think I just take things very personally. I'm working in it!

One of us seems to get better and another seems to get sick all over again. I'm so tired of it! Yes, we have colds again...

We did attempt to go to Disneyland today with the kids. We haven't been in a while and we thought it would be a good day and small crowds. We were a bit wrong. Not the worst we've seen, but not the best either. But no worries...we will be back soon enough. :)

I am still consumed in the Twilight series (Dustin is too) and loving every minute if it, more on this later because it totally deserves a blog entry of it's very own.

our new year SO far

Well, Christian almost didn't make it to the New Year after he decided to take down ALL our family portraits from the wall and use them as his new play toys.
Our New Year's Eve was a quiet one. None of us made it till midnight, but honestly we weren't trying. I did wake at midnight though and rang in the New Year with the sounds of gun shots and fire crackers. What a way to start it off huh?!
On New Year's day we decided to go to Oak Glen and let the kids run around a bit. They had a blast and to our pleasant surprise it wasn't very crowed at all.
This crazy ostrich bit Christian's hand, but thankfully he didn't cry. The mommy in me just wanted to smack it!
Then we came home and relaxed the rest of the day. Chloe kept wanting to feed daddy and both kids wanted to have daddy read to them. Poor Dustin just wanted to watch the rest of the football game and rest, but the kids had other plans in mind. :)

Our 2009 is off to a great start and we can't wait to see what in holds in store for us!
