Disneyland with the ENTIRE family

About 2 weeks ago or so Greg, Veronica, Chase, Savannah and Carl came to visit for 2 weeks. It was so fun getting to spend time with them and watching the kids play together again. One thing that we did while they were here was go to Disneyland. Yes, the whole family got to go and this was pretty fun. I was so excited that Dustin got to go because it was up in the air for a while since he had a big event at work the next day. Thank goodness he was able to go.

Here are some pics from our day at the park.

It was a fun day, but we do wish that Kristin and her family could have joined us. Next time!!! ;)
I also have to mention that on this trip we discovered that Chloe was tall enough to ride Thunder Mountain. She loved it!! Next time Space Mountain...

(thanks Veronica for sending me some of the pics)

winter fun

About 2 weeks ago we got a good storm that came through our area. We got lots of rain and our local mountains got tons of snow. The kids have been asking for a while to go play in the snow, so daddy thought it would be a good idea to surprise them. He was right! We are lucky that we live so close to just be able to take a 20-30 minute drive and be in a winter wonderland.

The kids had a lot of fun. Chloe more than Christian thought I would have to say. Once Christian realized that your fingers go numb from playing in the snow with no gloves he was NOT a happy camper. Chloe on the other hand had her gloves on and went into the ugly cry when we told her it was time to leave. Hopefully we can make it to the snow at least once more before the heat of the summer hits.

I love this expression...classic excited Chloe!Throwing snow balls at mom.Our sometimes drama filled little man. Yep, this is how we take a family picture...kicking and screaming!! :)Smiling for dad's fancy new phone.Getting some help from dad over the snow bank.Throwing snow balls at mom.Making her snow man.Not happy to be leaving.

Christian's first dance

Christan had his first school dance, yes that's right. As a kindergartner he got to go to a dance. You see his school is small and only goes k-5. That's one thing I like about him going to a Charter school. And they very much involve the family...so all were invited to the dance.

Well when Mrs. Proch, Christian's teacher, asked Chloe if she was going to attend the dance I knew it was over for me. I would HAVE to take them. She is the dancing queen after all! She was so excited all day. After school Christian said he would go cause they had popcorn and soda there. Hey, whatever it takes I guess.

We went for about an hour. Chloe danced, Christian played chase with his friends and I mostly laughed. I sure love my kids!!!

Doesn't he look so excited? ;)Alex is in Christian's class and sure loves Chloe. She was more than happy to dance with her.Mrs. Proch also joined the girls.Popcorn break.Cambria and her family are good friends of ours and are the reason we found the school. Chloe loves her too!! Who knows, she may just be my daughter-in-law someday! ;)

Valentine's Day 2011 and a hair cut

Valentine's Day was all about family this year. Dustin had to work so Chloe and I helped in Christian's class and got to help out with their class party also. All I can say is sugar overload!! The kids and I hit the grocery store and got some goodies to make pizza for dinner. We made a heart out of pepperoni (sorry forgot to take a pic)and we also made some fresh asparagus. I like to get the kids a little gift each year and this year Christian got a Thomas the train board game and Chloe got to My Little Ponies. the girl loves her ponies these days.

We also made a few different cards this year.

For the family. Some wallets.Christian's school card.
We also made one for Chloe so daddy could take to work, but I forgot to get a finished pic of it.
First thing in the morning Chloe decided to give herself her first haircut. I didn't notice until I was brushing her hair and a BIG chunk came out. I knew right away what she had done. She has been talking about hair cuts for a while. She also gave her ponies some new hair styles. So after we dropped Christian at school it was off to the salon for her.

It could have been a lot worse. She just chopped one side and got some bangs. Now her hair is just shorter. Good thing she has curls or it would look a lot worst.

Bad thing is she loved going to the salon . The next night she asked if we could go again and I said we have to wait a while for it to grow. She looked at me and said " the lady said come back anytime, remember!!" Oh this girl of mine is too smart and funny!!!

a new bed

It was time...so we thought. Chloe has had a hard time sleeping in her toddler bed through the night lately so we thought that getting her a bigger bed might help. So far it hasn't. :( It was fun taking her to pick out her bedding though and it's way better to be able to lay next to her in a bed now rather than on the floor for mom and dad.
