where have I been & where am I going?

So what's with the lack of posts the past few days you might be wondering. We have hit flu season...that's what! Chloe and Christan have been trying to fight it since last week and didn't win the battle. We took Christian to the doc Wednesday evening because he had only got 3 hours sleep the night before(that means so did I)because he couldn't breath. I didn't want him to have another night like that. Turns out his asthma was also flared up so they gave him a treatment and that seemed to help. So the past 2 days I have been sick and now Dustin is also. :( Dustin also got a new position at work so we have been adjusting to a new schedule this week. Let's just say it's been a crazy week!

Tomorrow night is the NKOTB concert and sadly I am still too sick to be excited yet. All I keep thinking is "I sure hope I can see straight by then." We leave for Vegas bright and early in the morning so hopefully we ALL get a good nights sleep and feel better. WE decided to just stay the one night and got a really good deal and are staying at Caesar's Palace. I'm so excited because I've never stayed there before. So keep your fingers crossed that we feel better and have a good time!

So Dustin came home from the store with these last night.

This is one of my favorite colors and I love that during this time of year we get to see so much of it. Yea for fall!!

more of our AZ trip

So although we did go to Arizona specifically for a wedding we did have lots of fun along the way. It turned out to be a good little family trip.

My crazy rash from last summer came back. This was not a highlight of the trip! I guess it wasn't a pregnancy rash as I first thought, but at least it stayed on only my arms this time.

We decided to take a little detour and visit the Grand Canyon. It sure was amazing! We didn't stay very long or get to explore too much so we will return again someday to do that. I must admit that it was long enough for me this time because my issue with heights kicked in and I was a bit sick for a while after.

I got to visit with Jennifer and the kids got to play, play, play! Poor Jen's house!! :)

One of the stops on the way home was Winslow, AZ. We wanted to see what the Eagles were singing about, turned out to be nothing too exciting. They did have a Sonic though so we stopped.

We also stopped at this giant crater that Dustin wanted to see. He had been there as a kid and wanted us to see it as a family. He didn't think it was as cool as he did when he was a kid, but I thought it was pretty darn cool.

We were planning on driving straight home, but then again decided to detour and spend the night in Laughlin. We drove the strip to see where we wanted to stay and then called mom and she was nice enough to book us a room since we couldn't get our phone internet to work. The kids were being silly in their car seats while waiting.

Christian enjoyed the view of the river and the boats from our room and the cow along the walk.

We enjoyed room service and not dealing with over tired kids in a resturant.

October is also...

breast cancer awareness month. I know that many people don't like to think about this, but we have too. This is something that is very close to my heart as it has affected my family. As a woman make sure you have your yearly exams. Maybe do it the same time every year so you remember. Maybe the beginning of the year, October is an easy one to remember, or maybe your birthday month. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and so I want those I care about most to do all they can to prevent it. Love you!!

our week in review

This last week has seemed like a long one. Maybe it's because we had a busy start to the week or maybe it's been the lack of sleep, who knows. After getting back from AZ on Monday we had to jump right into birthday party mode for Chloe on Tuesday. Dustin had jury duty Tuesday and Wednesday and he was really hoping to get picked, but no luck. Chloe had her 1 year check up on Wednesday and felt sick for about two days afterwards. Now she has a slight cold too, no fun! Christian also has been acting sick the past few days off and on so I'm not really sure whats going on there. Hopefully it just goes away! :) And sleep with Chloe has become an issue again. For about the past 3 weeks it takes about 3-4 times of putting her down for bed at night to finally stick. And for about the past week and a half she has been waking up several times during the night. It's frustrating to say the least, but I just hate waking up as tired as I was when I went to bed the night before! Hopefully this phase ends soon, I remember Christian going through something like this when he was her age.

Here are some of the happenings in our home this week.

Chrisitan decided to decorate the table and TV with his new crayons from Jennifer

We managed to get a few Fall decorations up

Then Jenny and cousin Alex stopped by and he and Christian had a debate about who was better...Goofy or Mickey Mouse. Christian was rooting for Mickey Mouse!

Chloe's 1 year check up

Chloe had her one year check up yesterday and had to get 4 shots. She was NOT a happy camper! Here are her stats:

weight: 21lbs 5.4oz
height: 29in
head: 19in

She is growing good and the Dr was happy with her progress. Chloe has been having eczema issues the past few weeks so it was good to get that checked out. The Dr also said that Chloe had a slight heart murmur, but not to worry. How do I not worry? Anyways, they said it was very faint and that they will recheck it in 6 months. Most likely it will go away on it's own. I pray that it does!
