Easter weekend 2009

We had a very fun packed and enjoyable Easter weekend. Saturday we celebrated the holiday early with the Peterson side of the family at one of our favorite parks in Loma Linda. I got a few pictures before my camera died so thanks to the family for getting the rest for me. :)

The hunt!
Every time Chloe would get an egg she would crack it right open and empty the candy into the basket.

The pinata that Veronica made, yes this family LOVES pinatas!

Chloe loved it, Christian wouldn't try it.TROUBLE-TROUBLE!! Chloe & Savy into the candy when they think no one is looking...funny girls.
Later that day we attended the baptism of our nephew Tyler. This was an awesome event to witness. As Monty baptized Tyler it brought tears to my eyes as I thought about Dustin doing the same for Christian in a few short years.
Leilani didn't even cry when I held her...it's a miracle.
On Sunday we went to church and then spent the rest of the day at home. We made our own Easter feast and then just relaxed. We did sneak over to my dad's for a minute though to bring him a plate of the yummy food!

watch Oprah tomorrow...my friend is going to be on there

Let me start by saying that she is NOT actually going to be on the show, but some of her pictures will be.

Some of you know the story of Matt and Madeline and are a frequent reader of their blog like I am. This is a story I was introduced to last year from my friend Gina and have followed ever since. It's a love story to beat all love stories to say the least and if you aren't familiar with it you may want to start here. And get the tissue ready!

Anyways, Matt and his precious little daughter will be a featured segment on the Oprah show tomorrow and some of the images that Gina has taken of them will also be included in the story. Gina is an awesome photographer, friend and mentor to me and I am SO excited to see her work on the show. I swear I think I am a little TOO excited!

I mean really...you have to be happy when a great friend a great story and one of your favorite shows all come together at the same time!! Hope you all can watch and support a great show!! Congrats Gina!!

my BFF & Sonic

On Saturday I was really missing my best friend Jen, who lives in Idaho. She sent me a little message telling me that she was going to go to Sonic later that day and would enjoy a nice cherry-limeade and think of me. It made me smile and almost cry at the same time!! I love this girl so much and can't wait for the day that we live close again.

So since the hubby and I are both a little crazy sometimes we decided to take a little drive.

So here's to you Jen...cheers!

some more catching up

Some fun with dad before bedtime.

Chloe just being Chloe.

I leave the girl alone for 20 seconds and she has company and toys in the crib.

While visiting my dad Chloe walked over and just started helping him water the horses. She had to be drug away to get her to stop...it was SO cute!

Auntie Michelle sent a box of toys that my nephews had outgrown and it has been noisy ever since. Thanks Auntie!!!

Another reason I LOVE Spring...my blooms are returning. :)

Easter egg hunt

Last weekend our Church had an Easter egg hunt and craft activity for the kids. We were excited to hear that is was open for the nursery age kids also since last year Chloe was too young to know what was going on. OK, really I'm not sure she really knew what was going on this year either, but she had fun. Christian had a blast too and now every time we go to Church he thinks we are going to go and look for eggs. He's so funny!

Here are a few pics from the festivities.

doc appts & Disneyland

Wednesday was a busy day for us. Chloe had her 18 month check up in the morning. She had to get a Hep A shot and have her blood drawn so she was NOT in happy spirits to say the least. Good news was that the doc really couldn't hear her heart murmur anymore so we will just have to monitor it at future visits. The bad news is that she had an ear infection that we didn't know about. She had been fussy the past few days and has had a little trouble sleeping, but I thought she was just teething. So much for my diagnosis! We were given an antibiotic for her and hopefully she will be back to her normal cheery self very soon.

Chloe's 18 month stats:
height- 2'8"
weight- 25lbs
head circum- 49.5cm
60Th percentile for both height and weight

After her doc appt we headed to Disneyland for some family fun. We had been trying hard to get there the past few weeks, but it just hadn't worked out. Dustin was able to take the day off from work and we had a blast. We thought for sure it would be crowded since some schools are already in Spring break mode, but we were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't bad at all! We got to do all that we wanted to and then some and even left early so Dustin wouldn't be too tired for work the next day. Chloe had a bit of a hard day since she wasn't feeling too well, but overall she was a trooper and had a good time. We all had a good time!!
